| Sil-Net Silicone Seam Sealer |
|
The majority of our ultralight products are manufactured from
silicone impregnated 1.1oz ripstop nylon. This material requires the use
of 100% silicone seam sealant to coat seams. We recommend Sil-Net.
Sil-Net is specially formulated for silicone impregnated material. It may
also be used as an in-field repair material for moderate rips, tears and areas
of abrasion. 1.5oz tube, with brush.

The Katahdin Ultralight Backpack 3,350 cu. in by Equinox
Since its introduction in 2003, the Katahdin has received an excellent response from AT hikers and has even been to the top of Mt. Everest. The Kathadin offers innovative improvements for ultralite backpacking not found in other pacts. The Katahdin's bottom cinch strap has been aligned with the hip belt to offer "in-line" weight transfer to the hips. The three compression straps, when cinched properly, creates a solid "tube-like" structure that replaces the need to use stays. The straps work exceptinally well at minimizing strain on the shoulders and help to properly transfer wieght to the hips, an impressive feature for a pack that weighs only 26 ounces.
The Kathadin's hip belt and back panel come with Cool-Max laminated to.5 inch open cell foam for added comfort. The compression straps are attached to the pocket wings in such a way as to add greater carrying capacity for the side compartments. Equinox continued to offer practical features that improve comfort yet maintain true to their goal of offering a quality lightweight pack. Available in Black or Blue

| UBG Pound Plus Pack (PPP) by Equinox | ||||||||
The next generation of "Ultralight" packs is now available.
More refined, more functional and more comfortable. The PPP design is like
that of internal frame packs, taller and narrower, dispersing the weight more evenly
and closer to your back. An innovative "compression" system that
includes three nylon straps, incorporated into 200 denier ripstop
"wings", that encompasses the front and sides of the pack, tightening
the load and further enhancing the packs ride. To top it off a new formed,
padded removable hip belt (6 oz) is available as an option. The hip belt
once it is added becomes an integral part of the pack's structure and increases
comfort and load handling capabilities.
The PPP is constructed of a 1000 denier mesh front and smooth, more densely woven mesh back panel. The air permeable nature of the mesh allows damp items to dry and essentially eliminates notorious trail smells. The top is finished with a wide "storm flap" of 200 denier urethane coated ripstop nylon. The bottom has been changed to the same 200 denier ripstop to improve abrasion resistance and strength. Grommets on the bottom provide a way for water and dirt to get out. Shoulder straps are dense 1/2 inch foam with EVA for comfort, light weight, durability and adjust top and bottom. A sternum strap is included. The elastic nature of the mesh allows for some additional capacity.
